The purpose of this project was to make a pair of shoes based from materials non related to the materials of a shoe and walk a thousand meters outside of the school in many specific places established by the teacher to see if shoes were well done or not. Some other materials were not allowed to be used, for example: sandals, shoe parts, or anything related to shoes.

The first thing I did was to design the shape of the shoe on construction paper and then measure my feet in centimeters to know the size of the drawing on the computer. The second thing I did was to do the shoe design on Autocad2000 which was very complicated to do because we had to choose quick set up, metric system at thirty-five centimeters, grid style, and then print to copies of the drawing from the bottom and the side view of the shoe. To print these copies was also a little bit hard because we had to print in a specific printer and be able to print over the construction paper. The third step was to find material to construct my shoes. Those materials were: glue, a special blade to cut the materials, earmuffs, cardboard, two strings from a pair of shorts, and a pencil to know the parts I had to cut. The fourth step was to glue all the parts with its respective measurements and make sure that the shoes could fit into my feet. The fifth step was to wait until the glue was dried and show the shoes to the teacher so he could check if my shoes were okay or not. After I finish doing my shoes, I helped my classmates to measure the thousand meters where we had to walk on a specific day to test the shoes. The places we had to walk were the harder places of the school, for example: on grass, no matter if that day was raining or snowing but the most important thing was to make them strong enough to survive the thousand meters.

I really enjoyed doing this project because I had fun, and at the same time I can get a grade for my technology innovations class. The most important part of doing this pair of shoes were that I learned to work individually because that is a good way to learn and to be independent doing class work or homework.

Finally, the teacher told everybody to write an essay about the process we used, and describe step by step; including the problems or mistakes we had doing this project. The essay was very hard to write, but as you can see I worked hard to get a good, excellent, and perfect grade. A a a a a a a a a a r r r r r r r g g g g g g g g h h h h h h h h!
