Les Miserables, our Fall
1998 production
Back to Blair
"To the Barricades!!"
Eponine dies at the barricade.
Cossete and Marius agree to marry, and kiss (sort of).
Javert at his moment of truth.
Les Miserables is more famous as a musical, the stage
play by Tim Kelly is less well known and rarely performed. Just before
showtime we got a call from New York, from the producers of the musical.
They wanted written reassurance by fax that we were not producing their
musical without permission. I got the unsettling sensation that we would
have been in, um, big trouble if we had. All was well since we did not
use a scrap of music or any images from their show. The producer, his lawyer
and I had a big laugh and I invited them down to see our play.
Our Les Mis program was made from 11x17" paper since
our new copier could handle it. The copier room however, was very
unpleasant by the time the 3000 programs were printed. The technician said
it was ozone, which is a lung irritant. Apparantly the ventilation in our
copier room is a little lacking.

...me again. There is more and more coming to the Stage Crew website
including "How to Build a Real Curving Staircase" (we've made three), the
famous Fiddler video clip, and images of every program since 1974. Check
back after exams. If you have old or interesting Blair Stage Crew images
get in touch.
