The Blair Stage Crew remakes Guys and Dolls

In 2001 The Montgomery Blair Players produced Guys and Dolls, one of the world's most popular musicals. It was the first big show to sell out our new theater, and one of the set sketches made it into Mr. K's book, The Perfect Stage Crew. A local middle school put on Guys and Dolls Junior this year (2005), and the teacher sponsor got in touch with us through our lighting consultant Mark Wray. (Mr. K. and Mr. Wray go way back...)

This redesign of the New York backdrop uses three parts of our 2001 set design. Mr. K. knocked out the perspective drawing and we enlarged it with our patented transparency technique. Since Rocky Run has no real wing space we put the sewer scene on hinged plywood, their crew simply opened it up, it stays in place with Velcro tabs.

Note: these pix are huge and will take a long time to load. But you can save them and print them and they'll come out great!

Here Stage Crew President Joel Turnham works with Rocky Run parents to install the "backdrop."

We made the clock part of the set design...

Here you can see the repainted sewer scene, below is the 2001 version.
