
WBNC programs are produced by high school students at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. All shows air on cable channel 60 or 6 for cable ready televisions. WBNC will be airing seven shows this season: "Tips for Raising Kids" ("Tips I"), "Tips for Raising Middle Schoolers" ("Tips II"), "Tips for Raising Teens" ("Tips III"), "The Word At Blair", "Shades of Grey", "Kid Connections", and "Metropolitan". Show lengths vary from half an hour to one hour and most shows have a segment during which viewers may call in and ask questions. "Tips I" focuses on issues that parents of elementary school students are likely to face. The show features discussions by both experts and parents or students who have first hand knowledge of the issue being discussed. "Tips I" airs on the first Wednesday of each month from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
"Tips II" has the same format and purpose as "Tips I", however the issues are geared towards parents with children in middle school. Topics range from school issues to personal problems that students may be facing. "Tips II" airs on the second Wednesday of each month from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
"Tips III" is one of few informative programs intended for both high school students and their parents. Shows provide in-depth discussions with both first-hand and professional experts on issues central to and affecting the high school experience. "Tips III" airs on the third Wednesday of each month from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
"Kid Connections" is a program for young elementary school children. It includes different segments with reoccurring characters intended to teach children important concepts and fun activities that they can do on their own. "Kid Connections" airs on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 3:30 in the afternoon.
"Metropolitan" has a lighter tone than the other shows, discussing various aspects of life in the DC metropolitan area. "Metropolitan" is the only show which airs bi-monthly. Shows are on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7:00-7:30 p.m.
