Brendan Connell's über-3133t Snazz-o-Matic Home Page!

Welcome! You've stumbled upon my thoroughly antiquated Web presence. From the fall of 1994 until mid-2000, this page was simply known as "Brendan Connell's Home Page". How boring! (So 1994!) As you can see, I've decided to "spice things up" a bit. Expect more exciting changes next time I get around to it--that is, probably never!!

Anyway, below, there's a partial list of what my site has to offer. (It sure beats the guess-a-URL-and-check method!) If you want to learn more about me and my interests, OR, if you just like to click on the little underlined phrases, please get professional help immedia--I mean, here's your chance!

What's New
Discover what changed during the last update: July 14, 2000!
Personal Information
My own biased and antiquated impressions of myself. (Warning: may be a potent soporific! Visit at your own risk!)
College Courses I've Taken
Want to see what I've been studying? Or, do you go to college with me, and want to know which courses I liked (and which ones I didn't?) Well then, too bad, because I haven't finished writing this page yet!
Brendan's Amazing On-Line Anagram Generator
Type in a phrase, and this handy contraption will generate anagrams of it. (An anagram is a word generated from another word by re-arranging the letters.) Among other dubious uses, BAOAG can unearth hidden meanings... meanings limited only by your imagination! For example, an anagram of "ROBERT DOLE" is "ELDER ROBOT"....hmmmmm! Try it! You might want to start with your name, or perhaps someone else's.
Brendan's On-Line Phone Anagram Generator
In my grand tradition of providing absolutely useless services to the Web community, absolutely free, I have hacked together an interactive phone number anagram-izer. If you've every tried to find letter equivalents for your phone number, or someone else's -- then not only do you have way too much time on your hands, but you also just might want to try this!
The Blair CTY Page
If you went to CTY, you have a pleasant surprise coming your way. Another Blair student, Melissa Hao, came up with the idea for this page about when I did. So instead of battling it out like VHS and Beta, we made this page jointly.
American Pie Archives
My shrine to the song by Don McLean. (My interest in American Pie grew out of the fact that CTY traditionally plays it at the end of each dance...)
My Quotes Page
I finally decided to put random bits of my quotes collection, normally found on numerous scraps of paper, on my Web page. Enjoy! [warning: way out-of-date]
The Twelve Inch Discs FAQ
The Twelve Inch Discs were Montgomery Blair's unofficial Ultimate Frisbee team during the 1997-1998 school year. They were a cause dear to my heart, because 1)Ultimate rocks, and 2)I was (woohoo!) the (co-)captain! We played two seasons in WAFC--the Washington Area Frisbee Club--and managed to thoroughly enjoy ourselves, despite getting demolished by various teams whose members were older (and bigger) than we were. During the summer of 1999, we played in a local league, and won the Spirit of the Game award! The team lives on today.
The PC Demos Page
The PC demo and module scenes have sadly passed away. Several factors contributed to their demise, including (IMHO) the availability of fast, cheap computer hardware, the rise of graphical operating systems, and the loss of the home PC's "hobbyist" status. Still, this page lives on. It contains dated PC demos and modules for people who were once into the demoscene--and information on it for people who weren't.
My finger information
Sick of outdated information on this homepage? Well, here's your answer! Thanks to some finger gateway magic, you can now read my outdated finger information instead!
Why I Don't Update My Pages More Often
My vehement diatribe against the sort of "progress" that has hurt the Internet in the past few years. (Disclaimer: don't worry--I'm not as angry as it might seem. In fact, I'm generally pretty even-tempered; my ranting and raving here apparently surprised some friends. =)
Completely Outdated Pages
Thanks to my, um, less-than-rigorous homepage-maintenance schedule, I had to remove links to at least 10 pages of mine that were hopelessly out-of-date. Sorry... =)
