Metals Page
We each select a metal and some test to conduct on the metal, such as banging,
bending, grinding, sawing, stretching, biting, or just about anything else to
affect the structure of the metal. The modified metal is cut and placed in a
clear, epoxy mold. The metal surface is polished to perfection, and prepared for
viewing under the STM (Scanning Tunneling Microscope). We then finalize the project
with a report summarizing our processes, tests, and observations on how the metal's
crystal or grain structure was affected by the test.
